Baptism Preparation
The following process is for children under the age of 7
Please contact the RCIA office if the child is 7 years old and up
NOTE: Catechetical (religious education) classes are offered to children enrolled in public school, from 1st grade through 12th grade. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) is also offered for children ages 7 – 18 who have not been baptized. These classes seek to enrich the faith of all our parish children by considering how we, God’s people, grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Documentations
- A completed Baptism Request Form
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Pre-baptism class certificates
Pick the dates
- For the child’s baptism ceremony schedule
- For parents and Godparents to attend the preparation class
Interview
- Parents are required to come to the office for an interview
- Bring the documentations to the interview
- Note: a letter of authorization from the parents is required if the parents live out of town & can not come to the interview
Pre-baptism class
- Parents and godparents must attend a pre-baptismal class before the Baptism. Please, do not bring children to class
- Pre-baptism class certificate issued at the end of class
- A retake of the class is required if class had taken 3+ years to the day of the baptism
Baptism Ceremony
- Show up 15 minutes before the scheduled time
Godparents requirement
- Must be 18-years-old or older
- Baptized Catholic
- Have received First Communion and Confirmation
- Attend Mass on Sundays and holy days
- If married, they must be married in the Catholic Church
- Attend pre-baptismal class
- If come from out of town, the pre-baptismal classes can be taken from another Catholic Parish. Provide documentation from the Parish indicating that have attended pre-baptismal classes
